WYLEX NSB Series MCBs & RCBOs

Older, obsolete range of WYLEX BSEN60898 MCBs for domestic & light commercial use. Not suitable for fixed busbar teeth of WYLEX TPN boards, does however use a toothed busbar

Popular in social housing/council specifications, there are a great number of WYLEX boards still installed with NSB circuit protection across the UK.

NSB series circuit breakers are 6000A breaking current (6kA) and the range is as follows:

• 60898 Type B MCB = 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 32A, 40A, 50A
• 60898 Type C MCB = 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 32A, 40A, 50A
• 61009 Type B RCBO = 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 32A, 40A, 50A
• 61009 Type C RCBO = 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 32A, 40A, 50A

NSB Type B MCB Specifications

Breaking Capacity According to BS EN 60898 & IEC 60898: 6kA (6000A)

Rated Voltage: 230V / 400V AC

Maximum Operating Temp: 55 degrees C

NSB MCB Dimensions (Both Type B & Type C)

Both B & C type MCBs share the same dimensions as each other.

All MCBs & RCBOs share the same single module (1P) width

The height (top to bottom) is: 89mm

The ‘Depth’ which is the total front-to-back measurement (furthest point above shoulder of din rail connection): 70mm

The depth of the busbar connection from the front face of lower part of MCB: approx 29~30mm

Busbar connection is by cage clamp to front. Also has cut outs at the front for busbars which screw to the MCB instead of the toothed busbar.

Note clamp leaves gap at back, beware that busbar tooth is correctly located in MCB and not behind the cage clamp during assembly/re-assembly

The WYLEX NSB series of circuit breakers & RCBOs use the same toothed busbar and share a similar busbar connection layout as the following:

NB: Contactum (the company who manufacture WYLEX) have confirmed to us that the NHX series MCBs are a direct swap for previous NSB series MCBs/RCBOs. They paid us to install NHX MCBs into NSB board during the massive recall completed on their NSB circuit breakers. Indeed if you still come across any of these circuit breakers then Contactum will still pay you directly to swap then on behalf of the customer.
